100th Anniversary Art Release AT THE DOWNTOWN ARTERY

Friday, March 25th. 6 pm.
An evening of reflection and revelry will mark Mishawaka Amphitheatre’s ongoing 100th anniversary festivities on March 25, starting with the public unveiling of commemorative artwork at the Downtown Artery and culminating in an indoor overnight at The Mish.
The Downtown Artery community art show will feature the commissioned piece by local artist Chris Bates to capture both the historic milestones and meaningful moments of The Mish’s last 100 years. Also on display will be a collection of Mishawaka fan art curated by Chris Bates and the Mishawaka.
Musical entertainment by Jus Sayin.
Rocked to sleep as a child to Stevie Wonder, Dechen Hawk's music ranges from beautiful ballads to serious backbeat funk. For the past 18 years he has performed locally and nationally and shared billing with such legends as Bruce Hornsby, Leon Russell, R.E.M., Ty Burhoe, Ron Miles, and the Fun Lovin' Criminals. A 2009 graduate of Naropa University, he studied with Bill Douglas, Art Lande, and Janet Feder. Music credits for television/film/radio include the Swedish documentary "No Artificial Anything", reality TV's "What's Your Problem", the indie film "Don Juan's Diary", and KGNU radio's "Jazz & Beyond" as well as a finalist at the 2003 NCSC Songwriter's Competition
More recently the newly formed neo-soul project Dechen Hawk's Jus Sayin highlights the songwriters latest musical expression mixing elements of neo soul, funk and jazz. Combined with local musicians Mirco Altenbach, Colin Robison, Ben Rubin and Eric Imbrosciano the Jus Sayin group is a a force to be reckoned with!!
